The terms for using this website and enquiring about my freelance data services
These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using my portfolio website and the general conditions for enquiring about or engaging my freelance data services.
Last updated: 31 October 2026
1. About These Terms
This website is the personal portfolio of Mostafizur Rahman, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. These terms apply to your use of the website and provide general conditions for freelance service enquiries and professional collaborations.
Browsing this website or submitting an enquiry does not automatically create a service contract. Individual projects may require a separate written agreement.
2. Website and Portfolio Content
The text, original graphics, visualizations, and other materials on this website are provided for informational and portfolio purposes.
You may view the content and share links to this website. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially use my original work without permission, except where permitted by law.
Project examples may use public, sample, or practice datasets. Any third-party datasets, company names, logos, trademarks, and related materials remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on this website does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
3. Permitted Use
You agree to use this website lawfully and responsibly. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access, disrupt the website, distribute malicious content, misuse contact forms, or unlawfully copy or extract website content.
I may take reasonable steps to protect the website and its content against misuse.
4. Portfolio Projects and Disclaimers
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, portfolio projects demonstrate personal work, practice, analytical methods, or technical skills. They should not be interpreted as proof of results achieved for a client or a live business.
Findings and model performance depend on the dataset, assumptions, methods, and evaluation criteria used. Results may differ when applied to other data or real-world situations.
Website content is provided for general informational purposes. You are responsible for evaluating whether any analysis, recommendation, or example is suitable for your specific needs.
5. Freelance Services and Quotations
Services may include data cleaning, exploratory analysis, dashboards and business intelligence reporting, SQL reporting, workflow automation, business analytics, forecasting, machine learning, data annotation, and dataset quality assurance.
Published prices marked “Starting at” are indicative starting prices, not guaranteed final quotes. Final pricing depends on the project scope, data volume, complexity, timeline, and agreed deliverables.
A service enquiry or quotation does not create a binding project agreement by itself. Work begins after the scope, price, timeline, payment terms, and other relevant conditions have been agreed in writing.
I may decline or defer a project where the requirements, timeline, resources, or data access are not suitable.
6. Project Scope, Payments, and Timelines
Before work begins, the project requirements will be agreed in writing, usually by email or a separate project agreement. Where relevant, this will cover:
- Scope and deliverables
- Total fee, deposit, and payment schedule
- Payment method and currency
- Estimated timeline and milestones
- Review periods and included revisions
- Responsibilities of both parties
- Ownership, confidentiality, and data handling
Unless otherwise agreed, fees are quoted in USD. Payment methods, deposits, and due dates will be confirmed before the project starts. Work may be paused if an agreed payment is overdue, subject to the project agreement and applicable law.
Timelines are estimates based on the agreed scope. Delays in receiving data, access, feedback, approvals, or payment may affect delivery dates. I will communicate material changes as reasonably as possible.
Requests outside the agreed scope may require a revised quote, timeline, and written approval before additional work begins.
7. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information, data, files, and access needed for the project.
- Ensuring they have the legal right to share the data and materials provided.
- Communicating requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria clearly.
- Reviewing deliverables and providing feedback within the agreed review period.
- Maintaining appropriate backups of their own data and systems.
- Informing me of applicable confidentiality, security, or data-handling requirements before sharing information.
Missing information, restricted access, or delayed feedback may affect the scope or timeline.
8. Intellectual Property and Portfolio Use
Ownership and permitted use of project deliverables will be agreed in writing before work begins.
Unless otherwise agreed, ownership of specifically created final deliverables transfers to the client only after full payment. Pre-existing tools, reusable code, templates, libraries, methods, and general know-how remain mine or belong to their respective owners.
Client-provided data and proprietary materials remain the client’s property or the property of their respective owners.
I will not publish or showcase client work, confidential information, or identifiable project materials in my portfolio or marketing without the client’s permission. Any third-party materials remain subject to their applicable licences and rights.
9. Cancellations, Refunds, and Termination
Either party may request to end a project by providing written notice. The parties will refer to the project agreement to determine the applicable cancellation process, outstanding fees, and delivery of work completed up to that point.
Where no specific cancellation terms have been agreed, the amount payable will be discussed in good faith based on the work completed and reasonable commitments made. Any refund, including for an advance payment, will be determined by the written agreement and applicable law.
If I am unable to complete an agreed project, I will communicate the situation and discuss an appropriate resolution, which may include delivery of completed work, an adjusted scope, or a refund for uncompleted work where applicable.
Any outstanding payments remain subject to the agreed payment terms and applicable law.
10. Website Availability, Liability, and External Links
I make reasonable efforts to keep this website accurate and available, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all content will always be current or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of this website or reliance on general portfolio content. Any liability relating to paid services will be governed by the applicable project agreement and law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
This website may link to third-party platforms or services, such as GitHub, LinkedIn, or Kaggle. These links are provided for convenience. I do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
11. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The revised version and its updated date will be published on this page.
Changes to website terms do not automatically change an existing project agreement. Any changes to an ongoing project must be agreed in writing where required.
